Mahedi Hasan Shines as Bangladesh Clinches Historic T20I Series Win
Over Sri Lanka
Colombo, March 2024-off-spenner Mahedi Hasan performed a match, which claimed the 4-of-carrier service figure for 11, when Bangladesh won his first T20i series against Sri Lanka with a win at eight-vitis at R Premadasa stage. Visitors took a three-match series 2-1, marking an important milestone in T20i history.
Master's Stroke of Litton: Like Mahdi X-Factor
Bangladesh captain Litton Das revealed that he had placed the Mahdi
for the Colombo Society to see the tour schedule, and knew the spinner's
ability to take advantage of the swing tracks. His faith was repaid in style as
Mahdi destroyed the Srilankan top order, removing Kusal Perera in his first
over before dismissing Dinesh Chandimal in Powerplay.
Since January 2021, Mahedi has taken 30 powerplay weeks - the most
of any spinner in T20i - heated his efficiency with a new ball.
Litton said after the match, "We felt that Mahdi's skill would
be perfect for Colombo conditions." "I planned from the beginning of
being my first choice here. That doesn't mean Mehidi [Hasan Miraj] is not a big
player, but as the captain I should consider the pitch and then choose."
Celebrate back to celebrate
Mainedi's heroine was particularly sweet after being torn the first
two T20 years after expensive mantras against UAE and Pakistan in May. The West
Indies had a snub despite being a series player in Whitewash 3–0 in December
last year.
Batting collapses is a matter of concern
While Bangladesh celebrated his T20i victory, Litton admitted that
batting collapsed, plagued him in other formats. They were removed for 94 (II
T20I), 186 (Third Odi) and 167 (1 ODI), which highlights weaknesses in the
intermediate order.
Litton admitted:
"We didn't play badly, but collapse hurt us." "The bats should
take responsibility - some have to launch a liaison anchor."
Litton returns to shape
During the example,
the skipper won 83 races in the second T20i, and broke his long white ball
recession with 50-fee 76. His 32 in Dickider chased further after an early
vobb.
Litton said,
"Hunger left me- I didn't score, so I was waiting for my
opportunity." "Everything changes everything by winning. The team now
thinks that if we play our best, we can beat anyone."
In front of the road
With speed on them,
Bangladesh will look at this success and take advantage of match winners like
Mahidi, and record their SLO deviation. Currently, meditation is to taste a
historical achievement in the T20I tour.
