Teenager Vaibhav Suryawanshi scored a pristine fifty against Zimbabwe within the first T20I, reaching the milestone in just 18 balls as his explosive ball grabbed headlines, it was his special birthday celebration – forming the letter ‘K’ with his arms – the lazy radical curious reason for this the signature gesture.


          A Tribute to His Mother This celebration first attracted attention in the IPL 2026 season when he turned up for a match against Lucknow Super Giants and after his recovery glory revealed that the ‘a’ gesture is a tribute to his mother whose name starts with a letter. His mother’s request is Aarti, and the party is his way of honoring him in the field. He had said, “This birthday party is for my mother, her name starts with an A.”


A record-breaking stumble


          Playing his fourth international cap with ease, the 15-year-old senior scored a blistering 1/2 century in just 18 balls. His offensive innings saved 4 sixes and four fours. Unfortunately, he turned out to be stuck on the very next ship after reaching his fifty, with Richard Ngarao taking a wicket.

           Notably, this is his first global 1/2-century after being dropped for three unsuccessful outings against England. Vaibhav additionally has the distinction of being the youngest player to represent India in world cricket.
